The Oak Cliff Film Festival, taking place at the legendary Texas Theatre, the Kessler Theater, the Bishop Arts “TeCo” Theater (formerly the Bluebird Theater), the Dallas Zoo, the Belmont Hotel, El Sibel Studio, The Turner House and Oil & Cotton during the week of June 14-17th, 2012 proudly announce the following films, events, and concerts.     

  • Special screening of Love and a .45 (35mm) with Cast and Crew in attendance.
  • Outdoor screening at the Dallas Zoo of Wes Anderson’s Fantastic Mr. Fox.
  • Belmont Hotel Poolside screenings presented by Tuesday Night Trash.
  • Music video showcase at historic El Sibil, former studio of Frank Reaugh built in 1928.
  • Experimental “Cinema 16″ shorts showcase and Amos Vogel tribute at Oil & Cotton.
  • Ghastly Love of Johnny X (35mm): a sci-fi musical!
  • Your Brother, Remember: a bizarre home video tribute to Kickboxer and Faces of Death.
  • Special Balloon Program: The Black Balloon (35mm) along with The Red Balloon (35mm).
  • The Comedy  – Featuring Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim in a movie where they don’t play Tim and Eric!
  • The Ambassador – a genre-breaking, tragic doc comedy about the bizarre world of African diplomacy.
  • Filmmaking workshop at The Oak Cliff Cultural Center with Bradley Beesley, (Okie Noodling, Sweethearts of the Prison Rodeo, Fearless Freaks)
  • Live Music from New Fumes, Diamond Age, Night Game, Beau Jennings, Neeks, George Quartz, and a special live performance from My Education to the 1927 silent Murnau classic Sunrise (35mm)

Jason Reimer, Creative Director of the Texas Theatre and Co-Founder of the Oak Cliff Film Festival is excited about the eclectic mix of films, parties, and concerts. “For each day and night of the festival we wanted to pepper in a few interesting acts that we thought would pair nicely with the films.” Said Reimer. “The Sunrise live score is not to be missed.”
