Boomers On Bishop Now Open

by Steven Doyle

I ran across a cute new shop that has been open for a single week in the Bishop Arts District in North Oak Cliff today. Boomers on Bishop is now open and features a small deli counter offering sandwiches, salads and real fruit smoothies. The shop is co-owned by Gregory Reymundo and we spoke with him for a few minutes when he was between slicing meats and toasting bread.

“We offer a healthier way of eating as far as our breads, vegetables and fruits go,” said Reymundo, “we buy healthier and better tasting breads from Enterprise Baking Company. We use the freshest ingredients we can find, period.”

Reymundo finds his fruits and veggies while shopping at Dallas Farmers Market . H uses the fruit to make his smoothies and adds no sugar to the drinks, relying solely on the produce to sweeten his concoctions.

The tiny shop leases out small spaces for vendors to sell their wares such as clothing, records, jewelry and other interesting items. Boomer’s features a dining room in the back and seating out in front of the shop. Free WIFI is available for customers.

Although currently open, Boomers will host a grand opening next week. The shop is located at 504 Bishop, just across the street from Lockhart Barbecue.
