Henderson Ave Country Club is Smoking Hot

Henderson Avenue Country Club seems to have it all. Craft cocktails, creative, savory provisions, live music, and sports are all part of the plan. Reminiscent of Nashville’s Broadway Avenue Honky Tonk’s, the Country Club is upscale, with a bit of sawdust on the floor. The patio, which opens to the venue, giving it a much larger feel, is ideal for watching the comings and goings of Henderson Avenue’s diverse crowds. The venue is located a short walking distance from its popular sister bar, Henderson Tap House, and neighbors Capitol Pub and J. Black’s.

Savory meals have been created by Henderson Tap House’s Dallas born and raised chef Sean Hill. The menu has a heavy BBQ focus, cooked in a custom made smoker. Some items you can expect to see on the deep-south inspired menu include Armadillo Egg Rolls that are  filled with chopped brisket, corn, black beans, onions and cheese, served with a sriracha cream; Hillbilly Charcuterie with spicy pickle chips, pickled jalapenos, fried green tomatoes, smoked gouda, pimento cheese, smoked pork belly and brisket with saltine crackers; Catfish that is cornmeal crusted or Cajun blackened.

You will also find featured entrees such as Chicken Fried Steak, Texas sized Pork Chops and Smoked Quail with habanero cheddar grits, cranberry ginger glaze. The ribs are perfectly dry rubbed and slow smoked and served with a choice of bacon mashed potatoes and gravy or green bean casserole reminiscent of mom’s home-cooked goodness.

Homemade pies are made daily to indulge your sweet tooth.

Barmen Stephan Hernandez created the Country Club’s Craft Cocktails, with signature drinks such as the South of Z Border – a spicy ginger margarita, or the Slow and Low Fashioned – Slow and Low with a blend of bitters. As every great country bar should, Henderson Avenue Country Club features a heavy focus bourbon and whiskey served straight from wooden casks, on the cocktail menu.  Six beers are featured on tap, and over 30 canned beer options from local and national breweries.

Entertainment is provided by live Country, Americana, Folk & Texas Music artists. Tuesday nights, CMT’s Troubadour TX star Guthrie Kennard will host his acoustic songwriter showcase series with musicians from across the world. Dave Matsler of The Quaker City Night Hawks will be performing Wednesday nights with various combinations including his bandmates Sam Anderson, Matt Mabe, Andrew Skates, and other local musicians. Thursday and Friday nights will host local and touring bands or acoustic or solo performances by national touring artists. DJ’s will spin pop-country hits and southern rock music in lieu of live bands some nights. For Sunday evening they are working with a team of writers, storytellers, and musicians to curate a Story Series that will pay homage to a different Classic Country artist each week. This series will incorporate slideshows and tribute performances by local musicians to educate and entertain lovers of country music.

Henderson Avenue Country Club is located at: 2405 N. Henderson Avenue, Dallas.
