I have known Andre Natera for more than a few years, and have enjoyed his talents while he worked the kitchens at the Fairmont Hotel in Dallas. He is a bright chef that has a passion for his craft while maintaining a delicious humility, a trait that could be well learned by a few chefs new and old. Recently we reported that Natera took over the helm at the Village Marquee Grill in Highland Park Village and I personally was elated.
I enjoyed former chef Tre Wilcox’s cuisine, and was now looking forward to seeing what Natera would do with the menu. Kaboom Town is one of Addison’s premier parties that celebrates Independence Day on July 3rd each year. This one day leg up on the celebration gives families and extra day of hoopla and fireworks. Speaking of fireworks, the 30-minute musically choreographed show in Addison is one of the largest and most spectacular in the nation, and it is in the backyard of 170 restaurants. This makes the show the perfect place to roost and watch.
The fireworks show is presented by Time Warner Cable and choreographed to music with a live radio simulcast on 100.3 JACK FM and TXA 21. Continue reading

All of the video footage that I have ever seen of M83 indicated that their live performances matched their epic recordings, earning them a place on my bucket list of “bands to see.” M83 has come to town three times since Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming came out last year, though, and each time, tickets were snatched up within hours. Since I have a profound issue with supporting the ticket scalping industry, I missed them. As this pattern repeated, I was becoming increasingly concerned that I would miss out on this tour. Fortunately, my wife’s principles are not nearly so limiting, so I was pleasantly surprised when she told me that she had gotten us some tickets. I was ecstatic. Let the date night commence! float on over to the Pharmacy…
