Scenes From Industry Alley Opening Night

Industry Alley opened last evening to a rousing crowd that included the elite of the bartending community, plus plenty of civilian supports wishing to kick off the bar opened by Charlie Papaceno.

We were on the scene to check out the toddling time which included time at the pool tables, dart board and a smattering of retro video games that filled the large back room of Industry Alley. Consider this an adult playground with all the accouterments, including fine cocktails and brews. The new bar does not have a kitchen in house, so takeaway from neighboring restaurants is acceptable. This week on craveRADIO we hosted some pretty special guests. First we had on Jon Bonnell who owns a trio of restaurants in Fort Worth. He has Bonnell’s Fine Texas Cuisine which has been open for 12 years now, serving up plenty of Texas game. Bonnell was  sourcing local products way before it was the hip thing to do, and has a vast network of farmers and ranchers he relies on each day.

In addition to his eponymous restaurant, Bonnell also runs his latest entry in Fort Worth, Waters. Waters is all about fresh seafood and has been a runaway success. At Waters you will find a rotating list of a dozen varieties of oysters, freshly flown in coastal seafood and a few interesting non-seafood items like a rabbit loin and a pork porterhouse.    Continue reading

Charlie is not only a mentor but an all-around guy who happens to be a master behind the bar. He was making these cool cocktails with significant historical value before it was fashionable. The displaced New Yorker can also make a mean bowl of red.       Continue reading
