Kicking off on Monday, August 11th, R Bar & Grill will implement $1 Craft Beer Nights every Monday evening through the end of August. $1 craft beers will be available each Monday from 4 p.m. to close. The local beer world is expanding at an incredible rate. We just received word that a new growler station is to open in Dallas at 6448 E Mockingbird. This is the former Kindred Spirits location near Abrams Road. The signage touts 36 Texas taps, something that is always a welcome addition to the neighborhood. The growler station will have less than 25 seats with a focus on fill and go business says the owner, Dale Czech. Look for more information to filter soon. The Best Little Brewfest in Texas is a Craft Beer Festival held at the infield garage of Texas Motor Speedway in Ft Worth, the ideal venue for anyone who loves craft beer. The hoedown is this Saturday June 22, 2013, and gates open at 1pm for VIP and 2pm for general admission, with last call for alcohol at 6:45pm that evening. Continue reading
Brad Perkinson at the new FireWheel Brewing Company based in Rowlett, Texas, is taking the beer world on full force. I caught up with him at the new Brix Bar and Grill in Plano. After finishing the hand-made White Trash burger (which consists of a hand formed patty tossed in wing sauce, covered in bacon and jalapenos, then all topped with a fried egg) he was ready to chat. Beer in hand, we headed outside to the spacious corner patio to tell me his story. He is immediately the fun loving beer guy that everyone wants to hang out with all hours of the night.
