This week on craveRADIO we hosted some pretty special guests. First we had on Jon Bonnell who owns a trio of restaurants in Fort Worth. He has Bonnell’s Fine Texas Cuisine which has been open for 12 years now, serving up plenty of Texas game. Bonnell was sourcing local products way before it was the hip thing to do, and has a vast network of farmers and ranchers he relies on each day.
In addition to his eponymous restaurant, Bonnell also runs his latest entry in Fort Worth, Waters. Waters is all about fresh seafood and has been a runaway success. At Waters you will find a rotating list of a dozen varieties of oysters, freshly flown in coastal seafood and a few interesting non-seafood items like a rabbit loin and a pork porterhouse. Jon Bonnell is the quintessential Fort Worth host and chef-owner of his eponymous restaurant Bonnell’s Fine Texas Cuisine located at 4259 Bryant Irvin Road. Bonnell serves up wild game, steaks and seafood at his restaurant to a hungry city eager for that type of cuisine. Bonnel’s next venture is Waters which is located at 2901 Crockett Street in the West 7th shops in Fort Worth and will serve up all things seafood, featuring sustainable seafood. Continue reading

It’s been a fruitful 11 years for Chef Jon Bonnell, owner of his namesake restaurant, Bonnell’s Fine Texas Cuisine. Today the chef celebrates his anniversary of the restaurant in grand style, and will be pouring from his mammoth bottle until it runs dry.
Bonnell is native to Fort Worth with a rich family history. He graduated from Vanderbilt with the notion of being a school teacher. After a few years of teaching math and science, the chef took off to study at the New England Culinary Institute in Vermont. This is the same school attended as Dallas chef Abraham Salum and Food Network’s Alton Brown. Continue reading
