PETA: The Breast is the Best

PETA making flavor suggestions again

Call it outrageous, call it chilling, but in London they were calling it a nice afternoon snack. Icecreamists founder Matt O’Connor was selling quite a bit of a frozen oddity, human breast milk ice cream — that is until local authorities seized his stash of “Baby Gaga” which was described as a creamy frozen concoction made from breast milk with Madagascan vanilla pods and lemon zest.

Although it is illegal to sell human breast milk in the United States, apparently it is not illegal in the United Kingdom. However, local authorities took it upon themselves to remove the product from O’Connor’s shelves until the local city council receives a ruling from Britain’s Food Standards Agency.

The Icreamists sold Baby Gaga for roughly $22 a scoop and had little trouble selling the new flavor  flaunting the health benefits of human milk stating it was organic, screened, pasteurized and “free-range”. Some may remember that the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) implored Ben and Jerry’s to begin using the ingredient in 2008 stating that “everyone knows that ‘the breast is best,’ so Ben & Jerry’s could do consumers and cows a big favor by making the switch to breast milk.”

Neither Ben nor Jerry concurred with idea but perhaps it’s not such a bad thought — for health reasons, of course. We are not sure but rumor has it that the scoops at Icecreamists come in a 32B, 36C and for larger appetites a 44D.

Um, GROSS! I only use almond milk, which is already considered weird, but breast milk ice cream? Can you imagine the production line if that became popular??
