New Openings in Dallas and Fort Worth

by Bryan Coonrod

More new openings in the nightlife world are on the horizon. First let’s give a Fort Worth update as the vital hot spots Barcadia and J. Black’s Feel Good Lounge on Henderson Ave in Dallas are opening locations in the new So7 cultural district. Barcadia will be the first to open joining already established restaurants like Chef Tim Love’s burger joint Love Shack and the Austin based Tex Mex spot Chuy’s. This new area will have shops, restaurants and living spaces and already is making a buzz in Fort Worth as the next not spot for those in the 817 area code.

For the late night crowd Club Fahrenheit at 907 Houston Street has finally made it’s opening after several delays. It will feature multiple rooms with DJ’s playing Top 40 ,house and electro music as well as having live entertainment from time to time . Also coming to Funkytown is Lucky Strike Lanes and Lounge 2845 W 7th St  an upscale bowling alley with locations across the USA featuring DJ’s playing music on the weekends, a fully stocked bar of high octane liqours and a chef driven menu when you get hungry.

Back in Dallas there is another new spot in uptown from the people that brought us Zouk called Glass an opening day has not been set yet but they are taking applications for employment. The legendary Windale Tavern that recently closed had reopened as Single Wide the smaller version of Double Wide from Deep Ellum, the owners are hoping to bring the unique vibe from Double Wide and to keep the regulars from Winedale in the ever evolving Lower Greenville area that is trying to recreate itself as a trendy spot once it was back in the day.

A little to the north on 75 the new Duke’s Original Roadhouse is slated to open May 1st and Down Under Pub and Grub in Frisco is slated to open a new location at The Shops at Fairview.

Remember, you heard this all first on craveDFW.

Do you know if there is any more information on when Barcadia is opening in Fort Worth? Their website says mid-July but I haven’t been able to find anything closer to a specific date. Thanks!
