The first time I saw Tara Harper, I thought she was a super model hired for Joey Seeman’s Rock n’ Roll art show. I had no idea she was there to represent her animal rescue charity, Paws in the City. Harper, co-founder of Paws in the City, began her passion for rescuing animals at the age of 3. This passion has helped grow one of the largest animal rescue charities in North Texas. Harper is not only one of the most beautiful woman I have seen in person, she is strong, intelligent, and has an incredible passion and drive for animals.

I sat down with Tara Harper one hot Saturday at the Londoner to discuss her passion for animals. She had been up all night with puppies she rescued from a Dallas Shelter euthanization. She was at the Londoner for the Puppies-N-Brunch function to help raise money for her charity. No opportunity goes unturned. She works hard for the money she raises for animals.

The thing that I find unique about Harper’s charity is the fact that if you want to donate your time, money, or goods, she accomodates what ever you have to offer. There is no red tape or complicated process, she is quick to work with anyone willing to help her organization. I believe this has contributed to the organization being incredibly successful.

The charity events thrown by Paws in the City are not your average animal rescue fundraisers. They are roaring good times with amazing people at events ranging from hanging out in the heat at the Londoner with your pets to their annual black tie event, Top Hat & Tails. The hot party of the year Top Hat & Tails  is happening this weekend and you will want to grab your ticket as this event sells out each year. Tara Harper is not just this beautiful face, she is a woman who is committed to saving animals and works relentlessly to save as many as she can.

The event is being held June 18, 2011 at the Frontiers of Flight Museum at Love Field.
