Who Reads Crave?

by Steven Doyle

Who reads craveDFW?  As we reach a whole host of milestones with our little spot on the web (any euphemism to avoid calling this a blog will do)  we enjoy getting out each day and actually meeting the people that make crave so successful for us – the readers.

We truly appreciate the overwhelming joy as we meet the interesting people that follow us in our ramblings. We will continue to work on the things you like best about crave.

That being said, one of the most common questions we hear is “where is Ask Toni”, and we have a wonderful answer for you.  Toni was recently engaged and has taken time off to travel and plan for her wedding.  She promises to come back very soon, and we certainly miss her and all the emails she generated.

There are a few new columns we have planned in the coming week and hope that you find those entertaining, but otherwise you will spot us on the recon for the best restaurants, galleries, cocktails and everything that makes DFW the best place to live.

So all this begs the question: What do you crave?

Peking duck! Is there a great place in Dallas (other than First Chinese BBQ – which is not really the same thing)?

  2. A Bolsa hamburger.

I read Crave! I enjoy reading about cocktails, new restaurants, food events, reviews and tours!

  4. Peking Duck at Sing Kee in Richardson is really nice. I have had the dish at Caravelle also, and it was OK. I was at May Dragon a few weeks ago and noticed they had it on the menu, doing the duck traditionally 3-ways (crispy with ‘pancakes’, sautéed with vegetables and finally the bones are used for soup).

The duck at 1st Chinese is really good, but is just a crispy roasted duck. It is also probably no secret that I love the Lacquered Duck at Five Sixty as well.

Some concert reviews might be cool…

  7. Ha, I was hoping you would ask. That is the Cali Roll Desconstructed from Parigi. Light but satisfying during the blasting heat of the summer.

Or did you mean the jester who we met at the taste of Dallas?

  11. I just learned about Crave a couple of months ago. I’m planning to transition from a successful but unfulfilling technology job to something food/farm/people-related. And you guys have done a great job helping me find Dallas’s foundation — or at least part of it — in this arena. Thank you so much for that. And I crave chocolate-covered espresso beans and chile rellenos.

I love Crave. Read you guys every day. I work in a restaurant and everyone reads you that I know. I crave seafood of any kind, especially ceviche this time of year.

  13. Love Crave! Read it regularly. Ed and I enjoy the witt and saucy sarcasm.
