Off-Site Preps For Opening

by Steven Doyle

With just a few weeks away from opening his latest concept, Off-Site Kitchen, Neighborhood Services chef/ owner Nick Badovinus has been busily prepping the borderline Design District restaurant at a steady pace.

We ran into Badovinus last night and he seemed dutifully excited about the new restaurant that will indeed serve as an off-site kitchen for his Neighborhood Services restaurants.

“We will be able to do some prep work at Off-Site for our other locations like breaking down pigs,” Badovinus suggested.

The chef went on to stress that this would be a fun concept and he was ready to open, “I can only move the coffee machine around in so many places,” he mused.

Off-Site Kitchen will only be open for breakfast and lunch to match traffic flow for the area, winding down service before 6:00PM.  The Irving Boulevard location is also host to such breakfast luminaries as Mama’s Daughter Diner who does an extremely brisk business for the early morning crowd.

Expect playful sandwiches and stick-to-the-rib lunch fare done in the same grandiloquence as his other restaurants.

Badovinus promised to keep craveDFW readers posted on the progress.

Why didn’t he call it “Bad Neighborhood Services”?

I work nearby and look forward to this opening. Thanks Crave!

Down the street from the Anatole is hardly a bad neighborhood. I work out at The Verandah Club and look forward to picking up some things to go for dinner as I drive back into “horrible” Oak Cliff.
