Extreme Chef Watching Party

by Steven Doyle

Join chef John Tesar this Thursday, August 4th as he hosts an “Extreme Chef” viewing party at The Commissary  in One Arts Plaza. The party starts at 8 pm and the episode Tesar is featured on will air at 9:30 pm. The chef will be serving up $6 tap wine, ½ priced Sangria and complimentary passed hors d’oeuvres.

We saw Tesar this weekend and asked for a scoop on the competition and he was rightly tight-lipped about the outcome (some sort of legalese) but said he had a really fun time doing the show that puts three chefs through a battle in a rugged climate with odd ingredients, rough terrain and peculiar Iron Chef type battles. We also hear the chefs endure a bit of a dust storm as they work on a farm for this episode.

“I can say that we did some crazy things like milking a cow and cooking the final course with a blow torch,” said Tesar.

Watching Tesar milking a cow will be interesting, but he should be fairly adept at the feat since he lives on a cattle ranch. We are not sure the last time he brûléed a burger though.
