America’s Best Bites Visits Dallas

In the wee hours last night we spoke to the associate producer for a new television program, America’s Best Bites, which will soon air across the country and in Dallas on KDAF CW 33. The half hour program will run in most major markets and combines two of our favorite things: food and travel.

The hosts, Ted Brunson and Natalie Forte, are on a mission each week to find affordable dishes and must-eat items across America, based primarily on viewer feedback from Facebook and Twitter. The new program is to be charged with a sense of humor and audience participation. Excellent tips from viewers will be rewarded with on-air cameos and other forms of incentives.

Initially America’s Best Bites will visit 12 US cities including Dallas, Houston, Miami, New York City, Los Angeles, Seattle, New Orleans and Philadelphia. Each week the program will focus on a different theme or “bite” from a handful of these cities.

The hosts and crew whisked into Dallas this week to check out a few haunts that tipsters assured them would be exciting including Ponder’s Ranchman which features big steaks for big appetites, Mike Anderson’s Barbecue on Harry Hines, Norma’s Café for their biscuits and gravy, El Ranchito for the chicken mole, Tillman’s Roadhouse, and Il Cane Rosso.

A Gaggle of Elvii at El Ranchito

Speaking with Associate Producer Madeleine Yastrow she particularly enjoyed the visit to Oak Cliff’s El Ranchito this past Wednesday for the chicken mole, but was also treated to the annual Elvis Impersonation night held at the Mexican restaurant which she described as “wild fun”.

Look for the new program this Fall. We will tip you off to the first airing of America’s Best Bites.

Special thanks to  Chris Moseley Photography.

  1. Was it super packed? It’ll be fun to see Jay on TV.

  2. I’m sure I’ll look like an idiot…and yes it was insane all night.

      Jay,
We hope the program airs in Naples, Florida (not Italia). Proud of your suggest…and to think I used to yell at you for peeing in our pool.
