Rathbun, Stellino, McCallister and More at DUO

DUO, the kitchen store concept from Tracy Rathbun and Lynae Fearing, has released its schedule of September and October cooking classes. Home cooks will learn tips and tricks from some of Dallas’ best chefs, with topics ranging from fusion cuisine and cooking for two to everyone’s favorite football season activity, tailgating. And while not a class, don’t forget that the first Thursday of each month is “Sip and Shop.” Come to DUO on October 6th to enjoy discounted prices and free specialty drinks from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.

Looking at the line-up you will see some of the top Dallas chefs passing through the doors at DUO including Pyles, Fearing, McCallister and of course chef Rathbun.

Thursday, September 15th, 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm – Chef’s Night Out
The former Executive Chef of Stephan Pyles, Matt McCallister, will share his tips on preserving vegetables, pickling, and charcuterie.
Friday, September 16th, 11:30 am – 1:30 pm – Nick Stellino and Kent Rathbun
Kent Rathbun and TV star and cookbook author Nick Stellino share their favorite Italian recipes.
Saturday, September 17th at 11:30 a.m. – Abacus The chefs continue their Italian demos at Abacus with more of Nick’s signature recipes, including a tomato and bread salad, veal Milanese with tomato pesto, salad and shaved parmesan and, lastly, pears in red wine sauce. The price is $60 per person, plus tax and 20 percent gratuity. For lunch demo seats please call Abacus at 214-559-3111.
Tuesday, September 20th, 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm – Entertaining Series: Tailgating
Chef Omar Flores will offer tips and recipes to make your next tailgate party a success.
Thursday, September 22nd, 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. – Lone Star Chefs Book Signing
Kent Rathbun, Dean Fearing and Stephan Pyles join author John Demers in celebration of Demers’ new book, Lone Star Chefs. Guests can get their books signed while enjoying hors d’oeuvres, desserts and wines.
Tuesday, September 27th, 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm – Fusion Cuisine
Learn techniques, approaches and recipes straight from Shinsei’s menu to build a foundation of knowledge about Asian fusion cuisine.
Thursday, September 29th, 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm – Cooking for Two
Brandy and Steve Spence teach attendees the finer points of cooking for two, and guests will cook and enjoy a three course meal with wine pairings.
Wednesday, October 5th and 12th, 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm – Fresh is Fabulous
Add to your culinary repertoire with Yolanda Banks, as she teaches quick, easy and healthy recipes perfect for weeknight dinners.
Tuesday, October 11th, 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm – Entertaining Series: Fall Harvest
Attendees will learn how to take advantage of harvest’s bounty in this class that will use the best ingredients of the fall season.
