Blankenship Promoted to Chef de Cuisine at Charlie Palmer

by Steven Doyle

As we heard from the press release this week, the Joule is adding on (was the construction for the past six months a huge hint?)  The boutique hotel is undergoing a 78 million dollar renovation that will includea new restaurant and playground facilities for adults. Here is a piece from that press release:

Having already dazzled Dallas with modern American cuisine at Charlie Palmer at The Joule, the world-renowned chef is expanding his downtown horizons with a new specialty food hall focused on freshly prepared gourmet foods. The space will feature epicurean stations serving delectables including certified Neapolitan pizzas, fresh-off-the-grill plates and handmade breads and pastries.

What we really want to know, and the press release doesn’t share,  is who is taking over the top chef spot at Charlie Palmer and replace the newly departed Scott Romano? . We just learned that exec sous chef Richard Blankenship is the new Chef de Cuisine, but the hotel is still seeking an executive to oversee the entire operations at the Joule.

Congratulations, chef Blankenship.

Had a chance to eat at the restaurant on my way through dallas, also met chef Blankenship for a few moments, I found him to be very friendly and the food was excellent, when I return from Scotland the next time, I’ll certainly call in for another meal, in fact I think I have told everybody I know in Glasgow how great a night I experienced at the restaurant,
