NYE at Marquee

by Steven Doyle

I stopped in Marquee  last night to screen a new film. The theater is absolutely gorgeous, the film not so much. It was a preview of the upcoming New Years Eve that is rampant with hip stars of the day including Katherine Heigl, Jon Bon Jovi, Jessica Biel and Ashton Kutcher to name just a few.

The movie was not all that memorable, but we did happen to run into Jason Komsas, the starring bartender and beverage director for Marquee. He filled us in on a few options they are doing for New Years Eve, which should prove much more exciting than the film.

There are actually two options including a nine course tasting menu with Tre Wilcox at the helm. Wilcox will be doing what looks to be a pretty amazing menu with many seafood items, but runs the gamut with ingredients. This looks pretty special.

There will be a butter poached lobster with a white truffle risotto, Texas quail “Rockefeller”, Fisher Island oysters on the half shell with sake marinated caviar, pepper-coriander crusted foie and seared Nantucket bay scallops, and so much more. Well, five more to be precise.

There are two seatings for this holiday dinner with a total of eighty reservations, so book early if you wish to be part of this unique dining experience on New Years Eve.

The other option is what they are billing as the Ultimate Party. Guests will have the run of the building with an open bar stocked with premium spirits and Moet Chandon. The night will also feature bites made by Wilcox and music by DJ Andre7.

With just weeks to prepare and make reservations, either of these options sound delicious. Call Marquee for more details at 214.522.6035.
