Inwood Tavern Celebrates 48 Years In Business

by Jerry Stewart

I personally enjoy a good neighborhood bar. Some are more divey than others, but the elements are all straight: relaxed and unpretentious, cheap drinks and a loud crowd. Throw in a world class juke box and you have described Nirvana to me. This weekend just such a bar is celebrating its 48th year in business, you can help cheer them on for another 48 by checking out Inwood Tavern’s bash Friday, June 1, 2012 starting at 7:30.

From 7:30 to 9 p.m., expect live music by Texas country band Cuttaway Creek, as well as complimentary Campisi’s pizza and cocktails courtesy of Svedka and Z Tequila. Three flavors of Smartini, a locally produced zero calorie martini mix, will be available all night long. To end the night in style, DJ Steffi will spin tracks from 10 p.m. until closing time.

Owners Lisa and Elia “Tom” Georgalis will happily greet you and make you feel extra welcome.
