Ten Bells Tavern Now Open

by Steven Doyle

The new Oak Cliff bar and grill Ten Bells opened their doors this past weekend to a huge crowd of happy revelers. Last minute preparations including building a half dozen picnic tables and pouring a patterned concrete patio literally hours before opening Saturday afternoon.

The energy level was high as the opening celebration and was extremely pet friendly and featured a “pooch pool party and dog wash” fundraiser for Animal Rescue of Texas.

Jack’s is extremely pet friendly and featured a well attended “pooch pool party and dog wash” charity event for Animal Rescue of Texas. Jack is he name of the beloved dog and late companion of owner Meri Dahlke. Jack’s photo hangs prominently over the bar as he watches the patrons.  Ten Bell’s is reference to a favorite pub in London of Daklke.

The space is small but very warm and inviting with a strong pub feel.

The kitchen was as equally as busy as the bar, and actually ran out of food before closing on Saturday night.  We were able to grab some food photos and taste a few selections. The wings are some of the very best in the Dallas area and not to be missed. Ask for at least a dozen napkins.

Ten Bells is located at 232 West Seventh in Oak Cliff just outside the Bishop Arts District.
