A Christmas Carol And A Word About “Pay What You Can Nights” At Dallas Theater Center

by Steven Doyle

A Christmas in Dallas is not complete without seeing the Dallas Theater Center’s A Christmas Carol at the Kalita Humphreys Theater on Turtle Creek. We really do not get snow, and no one is about to roast a chestnut in the streets, so we grab our traditions where we can. We were about to announce the Pay-What-You-Can show set for November 20, but the it sold out in record time. We are listing other PWYC shows as a holiday gift to our readers.

These are pretty amazing opportunities for people who may not be in a position to pay full price for a ticket, but still enjoy an evening at the theater. You can literally get any available seat for a penney, if that is what you wish to spend.

You still will want to catch A Christmas Carol. The show runs throughout the holidays from November 20 through December 23, 2012. Check the website for tickets and more information. C’mon Scrooge, the tickets start at $15 and there is not a bad seat in the house.

2012-2013 PWYC AT A GLANCE:

King Lear: PWYC – Friday, January 18; Tickets on sale – Monday, January 14
Red: PWYC – Thursday, February 7; Tickets on sale – Friday, February 1
The Odd Couple: PWYC – Friday, March 15; Tickets on sale – Monday, March 11
Fly By Night: PWYC – Friday, April 26; Tickets on sale – Friday, April 22
Fly: PWYC – Tuesday, July 2; Tickets on sale – Wednesday, June 26

Save these dates for incredible savings on future Dallas Theater Center productions.
