Win This: Charlie Papaceno Wants To Bartend At Your Private Party

charlieby Steven Doyle

The first gift we are offering to our readers dabbles in Human Trafficking. We offer you one of the best bartenders in Dallas. Charlie Papaceno is well known in the cocktailing community as the amiable and bright star at the Windmill Lounge. Charlie not only makes a proper pot of chili, but he also mixes a fantastic cocktail.

Many of the well-known barmen in Dallas have staged behind the bar at the Windmill for the chance to work with Charlie. He has a quiet demeanor that that draws his guests close for a few laughs and a well poured cocktail. Despite all the recent hoopla over making your own bitters, drunken cherries and mixes, Charlie has been doing these things for years and it is only second nature to him.

Today we offer Charlie Pap up as our first gift. Charlie has agreed to bartend at your party located in your home or office for two hours. He will supply the mixes and booze, you supply up to 20 people. The lucky recipient of Charlie’s services will need to confer on a date to host the party, but he has a few dates in mind this holiday season.

Please make a plea to Charlie as why you could use his services this holiday season and he will make the selection by Friday afternoon.

The Windmill Lounge will be hosting their ever popular Christmas Ornament party this Friday, December 7, 2012. Stop by for a few great cocktails and decorate your ornament. All the supplies will be available, and there are some cool prizes for the best entries. All entries will adorn the tree this season.

Good luck!

    Charlie-

Please consider us for the winners of your services. As the hosts for our Annual Sunday School class party (don’t worry – we’re Methodists…we most certainly drink!), we always do the usual wine, beer (craft and meh), and a few spirits with mixers. I’m happy making drinks for our friends, but I also would love to step my game up cocktail-wise. We can only imagine how great our party would be with you there!

    Cheers!

I would love for him and his fantastic cocktails to be part of our annual family Christmas Eve Eve Party! As many family members usually work every Christmas and Christmas Eve, and this is our favorite holiday, we have been extending the season and celebrating Christmas Eve Eve for years! Please choose our family with this wonderful gift!!

What party is complete without a perfect cocktail? As I usually host our holiday parties, having a master bartender making perfect drinks would take some of the pressure off me and make it the best holiday ever!! I’ve tried some of his amazing Ginger juice concoctions and just can’t come close! No one makes a better drink! Pick us and save our party!!

  8. Sheila

I want to learn to make a few good drinks. Pick me please.

  12. Greg

  14. Ginny

Wow!! Best Christmas gift ever!!! Me and my gal pals can party it up!! Pick us!!!

  15. I’m a yoga teacher and my partner is an actor. Imagine the party tricks and antics that our combination of friends would create…you would be thoroughly entertained while keeping us in the holiday spirit(s)!

  16. Slade

how about one for RHOL…real housewives of Lantana; I’ll take you out to the burbs where your pours will help cut the Xanax Chardonnay blues

  17. I would LOVE to win this. My group of friends are in our late 20s and shamefully we are still haven’t graduated from our college picks of vodka/cranberry or even worse, midori sours (I don’t claim that one)! I can’t imagine a better way to introduce ‘grown up’ drinks to my group than to have Charlie introduce to us just how fabulous drinks can be.

  18. I like friends, I like cocktails, I like Charlie.

    Dear Charlie,

    I don’t want a lot for Christmas
There is just one thing I need
I don’t care about the presents
    Underneath the Christmas tree

I just want you for my own
More than you could ever know
    Make my wish come true
    All I want for Christmas
    Is you

I don’t need to go down on Maple
    There upon McKinney Ave.
    Uptown won’t make me happy
With a weak drink on Christmas Day

I just want you for my own
More than you could ever know
    Make my wish come true
All I want for Christmas is you
    You Charlie

Oh I won’t ask for much this Christmas
All I need is your jolly face
And I’m just gonna keep on waiting
    Underneath that Windmill place

I’ll make a list and send it
For you to know our drinks
I can’t even wait for you to wink
    When out magic glasses click

‘Cause I just want you here tonight
And we’ll throw back drinks all right
    What more can I do?
Charlie  all I want for Christmas is you

  20. Heather

This is what I imagine would happen if my friends and I won!

‘Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the party,
Not a bartender was stirring, not even a Bacardi.
The copper cups were hung by the bar back with care,
In hopes that Charlie Papaceno soon would be there.
20 friends were nestled with empty drinks in their hands,
While visions of Moscow Mules danced in their heads.
Dressed to the nines, and ready for a night cap,
It was looking like this party could become a long sober nap.
When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
We sprang from our barstools to see what was the matter.
Away to the window we flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.
When, what to our wondering eyes should appear,
But a truck load of booze, both brown and clear,
With a talented barman, ready to throw back,
We knew in the moment it must be Charlie Pap.
More rapid than eagles his cocktails they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name:
Now, Old Fashioned! Now, Julep! Now, Sazerac and Moscow Mule!
On, Dark and Stormy! On, Aviator! On, Pimm’s Cup! Now don’t act a fool!
I’ll fill all cups to the brim! Let’s have a ball!
Now drink ‘em down, drink ‘em down, drink ‘em down all!

I’m dreaming of the white Windmill
Just like the one on Maple
    Where the highballs glisten
    And the locals listen
To hear Charlie muddling an old fashioned

I’m dreaming of those gin cocktails
    He used to make me
With every horrible spirit I consume
If only I could be in Dallas tonight
To hear the shaker, shake a perfect martini

I’m dreaming of winning a cocktail party
Just like the one on Friday night
Where my friends can partake in
The worlds best cocktails by Charlie Pap
My new year will only be bright if I win
    This one lucky night

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year…

  22. Sally-Page Stuck

Please come bartend our office party so my boss will love me.

  23. Mandy Taylor Moore

Oh, please Santa, send Charlie to my house for the holidays!! This would be a wonderful addition to my rather tired traditions. Something to re-vamp the spirit and help entertain all of the out-of-town guests who fly across countries to spend their holiday at our house. Pretty please, Santa? Can you hear me??? 214.914.8300 is my # by the off chance I win. I’m out of town, home Saturday. Please text or message me. Cell reception isn’t the best around here. XO

  24. Julie Fitzgerald

    Pick me!

I wake up late for work, man I don’t wanna go
I text my boss “sick” but he still says “show”
I’ve got deadlines to meet and clicking to do
And my clients send feedback like I’m some kind of noob

I gotta write – for my night – with Chaaaaaaaarlie

My man caught me drinking beer, he said “No way?!”
I usually drink martinis with Tanqueray
Man, the Holiday Season is such a bender
Just wanna hang with The Windmill bartender

I gotta write – for my night – with Chaaaaaaaarlie
    I’m gonna write –

It’s been a rough year and I could use a party
Come hang with my friends, we tend to get naughty
My friend squeezes in and said “I’ll have a cosmo”
Aw, don’t insult the man, that’s Charlie Papaceno!

I wanna win – a fun night – with Chaaaaaaaarlie
I gotta win – Crave’s contest – for this Paaaaaaaarty

  25. How exciting! I’m celebrating my 21st birthday on the 17th, and having a renowned bartender serving up drinks at a small party would definitely be a memorable way to do it up right. I was going to make my plea for Charlie to pick me, but after seeing all the clever and adorable comments, and in the spirit of the holidays, I’d have to say please pick one of them. My favorite is Heather’s. Too cute! Maybe she’ll win and invite me to stop by for a sip (if it’s after the 17th)!

  26. Heather

If Charlie picks my poem, Alexandra is totally invited for celebratory birthday drinks!!

  27. We loved the clever responses, and as promised many of you had multiple chances to win this contest. Our randomizer selected Just Carla. Congratulations. More contests on their way each weekday until December 24, 2012.
