Tonight the Texas Theater will present the 35mm version of The Goodfellas, the 1990 Martin Scorsese adaptation of the book Wiseguy which depicts the rise and fall of Lucchese crime family associates Henry Hill and his friends over a period from 1955 to 1980.
Besides the role of Shoeless Joe Jackson, Ray Liotta is best known for starring in the film as Henry Hill and was recently quoted saying that the only time he does not hear about the film is when he stays home and avoids contact with human beings.
By the time I grew up, there was thirty billion a year in cargo moving through Idlewild Airport and believe me, we tried to steal every bit of it. — Henry Hill
The Texas Theater owner Eric Steele prepared for the feature film tonight by shopping at Wal-Mart for a new jogging suit and a fake gold watch stating that it was his first trip to Wal-Mart since 2002 and it was for a good cause.
“I’m not kidding; the total price was like $28… which is roughly the cost of 1 pineapple at Whole Foods,” said Steele on Facebook this afternoon.
Buy your tickets online or at the box office. Goodfellas will be shown tonight at 8pm, Saturday at 6pm and Sunday at 5pm. Black helicopters optional.
