New Cooking Channel Program Restaurant Redemption Gives Crimson A Makeover

crimsonby Steven Doyle

The latest in kitchen makeover TV is Restaurant Redemption which premiers on the Cooking Channel. Redemption offers a different take on the makeover, just focusing on Asian restaurants across the country.  Hosted by Ching-He Huang who takes a week to revive menus by giving them new inspiration and direction to turn their businesses around. From updating tired, dated menus to renovating an establishment’s décor, Ching uses her Asian heritage and culinary expertise to save restaurant owners from financial collapse.

Ching and her crew were in Dallas in October of 2013 working on Crimson, the year old Vietnamese restaurant in Uptown. The final reveal was  inspiring. Look for a fresh look inside, and fewer menu items. We sampled some of the new cuisine and were pleased with the outcome. The broth for the new pho is amazing.

The Dallas version airs tonight at 7pm on the Cooking Channel. You might see a few familiar faces including some craveDFW stafersf and local chefs.
