Tres de Mayo Party at Ku De Ta May 3

kudeta1by Jayne Chobot Herring

For those of us who do NOT enjoy spending our weekends sucking in our stomachs for photographers, there is now another way to enjoy the sexy and exclusive pool club Ku De Ta in Old East Dallas. But it is only for one night. The Top Rung Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to improving the Dallas community by raising money for different charities, is having a party this Friday night and we are all invited. Parris Rigby, the foundation’s leader and consummate hostess, along with her well-connected and philanthropic friends and partners, is taking over what they are calling “The Compound,” a first-time-ever combination of the Chicago pub-like Three Sheets, old dance hall reminiscent Southern Comforts, and the previously mentioned urban oasis Ku De Ta for a “Tres de Mayo” party, bringing attention to the foundation and a new crowd to the three properties owned by Patrick Tetrick.

Sponsors Milagro Tequila and Stoli Elite are making sure that nobody needs to pay a cover charge, and will be mingling about promoting their brands with some specialty cocktails. The compound will be stocked with drinks and people to serve them, along with a DJ, a band, photographers, a covered patio with pool, foosball, skeeball, and beer pong, and a live donkey for photo ops. You know, as a nod to that Mexican heritage.

For guests who do want that exclusivity however, there are two convenient options.  The back Bungalow Bar behind the KDT pool will be a VIP area, complete with elegant lounge seating, its own dedicated bar, and the beautiful people of Dallas. Of course. And around the pool  will be private cabanas for groups who want bottle service and a photo-rific Vegas club experience to rent for the evening.

Reservations for the VIP area ($50/person, which includes two drinks) and private cabanas ($300/group, which includes a bottle) can be made through the foundation’s website. RSVPs via the event’s facebook page are requested. Valet will be available, and a coupon code for UBER is provided on the website. The event will run from 7pm until 2am. And not to worry; the bikinis (and all that come with them) will return the next day.
