Parigi restaurant on Oak Lawn was packed to the gills on Sunday night for a fundraiser for the Promise of Peace Community Garden. The garden, to be built in Little Forest Hills, helps implement the organization’s mission statement. Namely, “seeking simple solutions for increasing high school completion rates and healthy life styles as a result of positive community engagement. POP strives to connect the groups of neighborhoods in East Dallas through horticultural, environmental, and nutritional educational experiences”.

A special menu was prepared by four notable chefs: Janice Provost (chef/owner of Parigi), Graham Dodds (execuchef, Central 214), Chad Houser (chef/CEO of Cafe Momentum) and Rolo Cantu (sous chef of Sundown at Granada). In addition live music, with a strong Beatles accent, was played by Mack Price.

Wine was donated by Oak Cliff Cellars owner, Jim Richardson (their unoaked Chardonnay and Zinfandel).

Too early to say how much the event raised, but stay tuned!
