Dean Fearing wants you to remember him next time you need catering in your home or office. To show the world that he is not just a fantastic chef in his own restaurant kitchen, he invited a houseful of guests to his home last evening for dinner. There we were able to play with his cats and dine with his staff including Eric Dryer, Fearing’s chef de cuisine, and pastry chef Jill Bates.
Missing was Paul Botamer the wine director, but the sommelier was kind enough to send over yummy wines from Coquerel Family Wine Estates, including one fantastic Chardonnay. Brenda Cockerell was on hand as well.
It was an interesting and whimsical evening filled with platters of grilled quail, shrimp and jalapeno grits, pulled pork, lobster tacos and Fearing’s signature banana pudding.
The evening ended with a jam session in Fearing’s man cave which is situated just above his garage. If you listen closely Fearing has cool vocals which sounds eerily like Mick Jagger with a soft Texas twang.
I know who I am going to call for catering at my next bar mitzvah.
Steve, You might want to leave the pulled pork and lobster tacos off your Bar Mitzvah menu!
d’oh!
