Who doesn’t love a good Meat Fight, especially where you are able to sample alongside some of the beefiest judges from across the country, including one Nick Offerman. Here is the low-down on the hoedown, scribed by a James Beard Award Winning beard lover and meat enthusiast, Alice Laussade:
Hold on to your pork butts, Dallas. Meat Fight®, a barbecue competition benefiting the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, will be held Sunday, Nov. 17 (5-8 p.m.) at Four Corners Brewery.
Meat Fight, the brainchild of James Beard Award Winner and Dallas Observer columnist, Alice Laussade, will bring together a dozen of Dallas’ best chefs to compete in four categories: brisket, ribs, sausage, and wild card. Nine barbecue experts will judge the competition meats, which attendees will be able to sample with beer provided by Four Corners Brewery.

They will see the judging of the meats take place, and they will be first in line for tastes of the competition meats. In addition to getting a taste of each of the 12 competition meats, guests will enjoy bacon doughnuts from Hypnotic Donuts, greens from Garden Cafe, a pickle bar with pigs’ feet from Jack Mac’s Swill and Grill, popsicles from Pop Star Popsicles, pastries from Swiss Pastry Shop, delicious coffee from Noble Coyote Coffee Roasters, whiskey tastings from Knob Creek and of course, fantastic local brews from Four Corners Brewery.
A live auction will take place during the event that will include exclusive chef experiences, a Golden Ticket to skip the line at Pecan Lodge and other unique meat-centric items. Before the announcement of the Meat Fight competition winners, Nick Offerman will judge the first annual Uncle Benjamin’s Meatvember Face Beard Pageant, during which attendees’s face beards will compete for a trophy.
