Calling all cocktail lovers! On Sunday, December 15th, 45 of DFW’s best bartenders are shaking concoctions for charity in this year’s Cocktails for a Cause. They will take over The Standard Pour in Uptown to raise money for a local charity called Trigger’s Toys, dedicated to donating toys to children in hospitals around the area.
Bryan Townsend, the Founder of Trigger’s Toys, with the help of Whiskey Cake’s Sean Conner and The Standard Pour’s Bryan McCullough, have rallied local bartenders and mixologists to put on the ultimate pop-up bar where teams of five bartenders will come in every hour to craft specialty cocktails for $10 each. 100% of all proceeds will go to Trigger’s Toys and those in need. Participating bartenders include: Kyle Hilla (Bolsa), Ivan Rimach (Mexican Sugar), Alex Fletcher (Victor Tangos), and many more.
“It’s an honor to be able to put on this event to donate to Trigger’s Toys,” Conner says, “It’s a unique time where we as bartenders can put aside competition and work together to do something meaningful. We’re doing what we love while working towards a common goal that’s bigger than ourselves.”
Bryan Townsend founded Trigger’s Toys in 2008, after he started bringing toys to children in hospitals with his golden lab, Trigger. He saw how significant it was for the children to be visited by a friendly pup or to receive a brand new toy. This motivated Bryan to launch Trigger’s Toys to continue raising funds for his mission. He, along with Conner, McCullough and more, are throwing a “Trigger’s Toys Christmas Party” on Thursday, December 12th to bring toys and holiday fun to really deserving children in the Baylor Medical Center at Dallas.
“It’s events like Cocktails for a Cause that provide the funds and supplies necessary for Bryan to continue bringing joy to these kids,” Conner adds, “Nothing’s more rewarding than that.”
Guests are welcomed to stop by The Standard Pour located at 2900 McKinney Ave in Dallas between 6:00pm-2:00am on Sunday, December 15th.
Cocktails for a Cause launched in December of 2011 by Bryan Townsend, who wanted to host a pop up bar with the best bartenders in the area in support of Trigger’s Toys, his charity dedicated to delivering toys to children in nearby hospitals.
