Bonne Santé will take place on Friday, April 25 at 6:30 p.m. at The Westin Galleria Dallas, and Scott Murray will serve as the emcee. The Gift of Life Award recipient will be Brandon Vance. Dr. Goran B. Klintmalm, Chairman and Chief of the Annette C. and Harold C. Simmons Transplant Institute in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex and Director of the Dallas Liver Transplant Program, will present this award. The National Kidney Foundation’s “Gift of Life Award” is presented to those who have been instrumental in not only advancing the cause of both the National Kidney Foundation and transplantation, but also for their commitment of time, talent and support.

The Burl Osborne Awareness Award celebrates the life of former board member of National Kidney Foundation and executive editor and publisher of The Dallas Morning News, Burl Osborne, who passed away on August 15, 2012. Burl was the third recipient of an experimental anti-rejection technique for a kidney transplant in 1966 when he was only 29 years old.

Host Chefs Scott Gottlich and William A. Koval are very familiar with kidney disease as well.  Chef Gottlich’s sister Stephanie is a transplant recipient, and Chef Koval’s son Nathan was born with only one kidney, so his family leaned heavily on the National Kidney Foundation to get through that difficult time.

“We have come a long way since the inaugural Bonne Santé in 2011, and it has grown to become an event that many National Kidney Foundation supporters look forward to each year,” said John Mizerany, Chairman for Bonne Santé who serves on the board of directors for National Kidney Foundation of Texas. “We are fortunate to be working with such a talented collection of chefs who join together for one purpose—to support those in the North Texas community who are affected by kidney disease.”

To celebrate the 2014 Bonne Santé, the Westin Galleria Dallas is offering two packages. The Deluxe Package is $440 and includes overnight accommodations, two general admission tickets to Bonne Santé and overnight valet parking. The Executive Package is $500 and includes overnight accommodations with Executive Club level access, two general admission tickets to Bonne Santé and valet parking.

Individual tickets for Bonne Santé will be sold at $200, and sponsorships from $3,000 to $25,000 are available. For more information on tickets and sponsorships, please visit http://www.nkft.org.
