The highest-end wine event at Savor Dallas is the Reserve Tasting, which gets the ball rolling on Saturday night. Here are some pictures to indicate the kind of wines available.
The “Usual Rule” is white wine before red. The Usual Rule is suspended when the red is either of these two
On the left is one of the formative reds of the Cabernet Sauvignon revolution in Napa Valley
Sterling Vineyards is hoping to make a comeback into the top tier with its “Platinum”. Almavira is a Chilean wine owned, in part, by the Rothschild family (of Ch. Mouton Rothschild fame)
Silver Oak is one of Napa’s most revered wineries
Quintessa is owned by Agustin Huneeus, one of the most famous winery owners in the world
Nice ducky. Duckhorn Wine Company showed a wide range of their wines
Port drinkers were served as well
Fall Creek Vineyards of Tow, TX had their “GSM” (Grenache-Syrah-Mourvédre) also served at a seminar earlier in the day. This is an example of one of the state’s best wines from the best vintage on record
Pedernales Cellars of Stonewall, TX is one of Texas’ flagship wineries. Their Kuhlken Vineyard Reserve is a red blend created to showcase the best grapes from the winery’s estate vineyard
Putting this on my wish list.
I had the best time Saturday night. Me and my crew of ravenous diners had written off Savor the last few years where it was really Savor Irving but our interest was piqued when I spotted that the vents were back in the titled city. So much better. I will not go back to any event at the Irving Convention Center.
