What’s Eating Your Phone?

phoneby Steven Doyle

Each week we ask the question, “What’s Eating Your Phone”? This is where we all can join in on the foodie fun and send in your latest dining photo that has you all jazzed. These are not necessarily limited to dining out, it can be from that last dinner party. And don’t think we discriminate against libations. Send in your favorite cocktail photo, too.

To be included in a future edition of What’s Eating Your Phone, send those photos to me at steven@cravedfw.com. A brief description and location would be super helpful. Here are this week’s selections:

ellens southern kitchen

Ruth Kubajak sends us a photo from her phone and reminisced about a particularly fond brunch at Elln’s Southern Kitchen in the West End. Behold, Ruth’s Grits Benedict.

knife

Alyson Brown told us that Knife is not necessarily about the beef. On her recent visit to the steakhouse to celebrate a birthday, Alyson said that one of the hits of the table was the heirloom tomato salad with compressed watermelon, sea salt, rice wine, fresh basil and Spanish olive oil powder. She said it tasted as beautiful as it looks.

Llano Poblano

Our very own Joey Stewart is a devout fish eater, but went astray to enjoy this burger from Hopdoddy Burger Bar, the Llano Poblano. Looks pretty good, Joey.

Andrea Perkins sends us her photo of the famous Green Room Mussels a la Marc Cassel at 20 Feet Seafood Joint. Andrea says they were  “Aromatic ginger half-moons infuse the delicate, flavorful lemongrass broth. Good thing there’s plenty for bread-dipping when the plump, tender mussels are no more”.  We agree, Andrea, and look forward to that future invitation!

CasaRubia

David Levesque shares his Tasting Queso and Embutido Plates at Casa Rubia in Trinity Groves. David tells us “this is one of the best meet/cheese boards in Dallas my wife and I have had, and the Jamon Iberico was amazing”.

Truer words were never spoken.
