After closing his last restaurant Nosh, Avner Samuel has been working with Lombardi Family Concepts. Most recently Samuel revamped the menu at Bistro 31 which is located in Highland Park Village. Samuel is making a move to Houston to open more of the Lombardi restaurants, including Toulouse. Also joining the Lombardi family is chef Andrew Bell who is currently at Bolsa in Oak Cliff.
Chef Bell will start working for Lombardi in Dallas in November, leaving an opening for a new chef at Bolsa. The new chef has yet to be named for Bolsa but that should be announced soon.
I spoke to Bell recently and he said that the offer at Lombardi was enticing enough for him to make the move, but has enjoyed his time at Bolsa where he performed some amazing work with that menu.
