Christmas Night Curry Pop Up At Windmill

CHRISTMASby Steven Doyle

Imagine with me if you will. It is Christmas Day. Your family, from you dear old uncle to the slew of nieces and nephews, have been crawling all over you demanding your attention all day. You have eaten all the roast beast, watched all the games you could possibly want, and even taken in a video of A Christmas Story… three times in the same day.  You are ready for a little “me time”.  If the Christmas night crowds at the bars in Dallas are any indication, everyone suffers from this family overload syndrome. We have a deal for you. Consider it a gift.

The Windmill Lounge, one of our favorites in Dallas, will play host to chef Justin Holt, the sous over at the top rated Lucia in Bishop Arts. There he will perform some magic only in the way he knows best. At 10pm chef Holt will break out pots of lamb Jungle Curry. Then a Japanese yellow curry made with no coconut. These dishes will be served with rice and that amazing flat bread, paratha. All this at no cost, but he is taking donations.

The curries star flowing at 10pm Christmas night, and you will want to be on time. If the past is any indication, these pop ups meals at the Windmill by Holt go extremely fast. It will be a great evening surrounded by warm bowls of curry, people who are not your family, and great cocktails and beer.

Merry Christmas.
