Eat Me: Snuffer’s Bacon Burger

Snuffer’s, the venerable Dallas burger chain, is featuring a different burger each month, starting this month with the Bacon Lovers Burger ($9.49). I checked it out at a media event this week and can report that it is a succulent chuck steak patty cooked the way you want it (medium-rare for me) in a sesame seed bun with American cheese, a scintilla of acidulous pickle, sweet grilled yellow onions, a slice of tomato all topped with two slices of crisp Applewood smoked bacon. It runs through February only.

The thing is huge and can easily satisfy two appetites. If you are really into sin, order some of Snuffer’s famous cheddar fries on the side ($1.79/$2.79). Douse them with crumbled bacon as well, along with a dusting of tart chive rings.

…and Drink This With It…

Snuffer’s has also revamped their drinks menu. The changes ring through all the alcohol types but I do like their approach to margaritas. Check out the Blue Ribbon Sauza-Rita (Sauza Blue Reposado with Brazilian Pera Oranges) and the Sangria Swirl margarita especially. For low-cal fans the Caborita is made with Cabo Wabo® Blanco Tequila mixed with agave nectar, fresh lime juice and a splash of orange juice.

It was good to see the back page of the drinks menu too. A kind of ‘who we rock with’ list of all the spirits they use in their cocktails. It is a who’s who of premium brands.

While the burgers have a fixed one-month ‘half life’ the new libations will run longer. That is especially good news for those planning to try the (dog-friendly) patio this spring as it has a new cover for those hot days.
