Dallas Margarita Meltdown May 24th

The history of the margarita runs deep in Texas and no matter if it’s frozen or shaken, Dallas loves a great margarita. This is only one reason why you will want to check out the 5th annual Dallas Margarita Meltdown. The Dallas Margarita Meltdown will take place during Memorial Day weekend on Sunday, May 24th from 4pm-9pm in Dallas’ historic Bishop Arts District. The margarita competition will be 4-7pm with the winner being announced at 8pm.

The Margarita Meltdown is sponsored by Milagro Tequila. Competing restaurants include: Asador, Urban Taco, RJ’s Mexican Cuisine, Komali, Mexican Sugar, Westin Blue Fire Grille, C’Viche, The Ranch, El Ranchito, La Calle Doce, Veracruz Café, Bar 303, Pier 247, Scotch and Sausage, Local Oak, The Mobile Bartender, High and Tight, Tillman’s, Vagabond, The People’s Last Stand,  La Margarita, Pie 314, Parliament, Boulevardier and Mesa. They will be adding several more.

Some of  the best bartenders in the city will compete for $1000 and the prestigious title of best margarita in Dallas. Various happy hour events leading up to the Margarita Meltdown will begin in May at participating establishments in Uptown and Bishop Arts District.

All attendees will have the opportunity to sample each ‘rita and vote on their favorite one via text message. Over 25,000 people have attended the Margarita Meltdown over the past four years and are expected to sell out this year.

Tickets for this event are $30 online and $35 cash only at the door. There will be food and water vendors on site.
