Carnival Barker Loses Lease at Truck Yard *Update

Carnival Barker Ice Cream, owned by Aaron Barker  Dallas’ only rock and roll ice cream maker, lost his lease at his original Greenville Avenue location. Located in 120 square feet of space near the entrance to The Truck Yard, Barker is now in search for a new location in the area.

“I may get my ice cream cart registered and start rolling through East Dallas,” Barker told craveDFW. We asked Barker why he thinks the lease was not renewed and he said that the Truck Yard wanted to “bring in new blood”.  He had mentioned to us earlier this year that he thought his lease would not be renewed.

Barker recently opened a spacious location in Oak Cliff at 345 West Jefferson, and sells not only his house-churned ice cream, but also chili and hot dogs.

Fans of Barkers (and that’s us) have until September 14th to stop by the Truck Yard location.

*Update: Word on the street, and several reliable sources tell us that HG Sply will move into the tiny space at Truck Yard to sell ice cream.
