Exclusive: ZaLat to Open Second Location in Plano

More news from the King of Late Night, Khanh Nguyen who owns both DaLat, the interesting and quirky pho restaurant with the late night hours, and ZaLat, the pizzeria that has even later hours. Both restaurants are located on Fitzhugh. Today Khanh tells craveDFW that he plans another location, and actually signed a new lease just after midnight this morning. The new Zalat will be located on the northwest corner of Legacy and Independence Parkway in the Legacy Village Shopping Center at 7224 Independence Parkway. It will mirror the Fitzhugh location exactly and only serve take out and delivery.  This is in a former Domino’s Pizza location.   zalat1 Currently ZaLat delivers a damned good pizza pie that is an amalgam of both a Neapolitan and New York style crust that was developed by Khanh and crew with the help and ongoing advice of his many chef friends that check into his late night pho restaurant. It is when most restaurants and bars have shut down that his restaurants are frequented by many folks from the restaurant industry. Although Dallas is becoming a more late night restaurant city, it is Khanh that started the movement successfully with his two restaurants.

“We started looking for a location in the Plano-Frisco area because we’ve had so many requests from people who live up north asking us for months now to open one up north. It’s mainly from all the chefs and bartenders who live up there. The service industry folks had a preview of our pizzas a few months before everybody else did,” Khanh told craveDFW early this morning.

Khanh also told craveDFW last month that he had served over 10,000 pizzas in a two month period. Not a bad start up.

ice cream khanh In addition to the great pizzas that can be ordered via text or online,  ZaLat will now start delivering Ben and Jerry’s as well as Haagen-Daz ice cream. Khanh is particularly fond of the caramel cone flavored Haagen-Daz ice cream and suggest you order that now with the addition of your next pizza. We suggest that you order the Crave pizza that is on the ZaLat menu which has been named for this online publication and includes beef pepperoni, salami, red onion, black pepper. Currently ZaLat is closed Monday and Tuesday except during Monday night football. Wednesday through Friday ZaLat is open 4pm to 4am, and Saturday and Sunday they open 11am to 4am. Order online at their website, or you may call or text at 469-573-2007. Look for the new Plano location to open by October.
