Hot on the heels of TBD, today District Entertainment Group announces their latest venture: Uptown Pawn. Slated to open in September, this exciting new concept will inhabit the old Belly & Trumpet space on McKinney Avenue, giving District Entertainment Group two bars on the hottest nightlife strip in the city.
Uptown Pawn’s unique concept will fuse the fun, whimsical nature of a pawn shop with the hospitality of a bar and restaurant. The space features comfortable seating and a mix of high-top and low-top tables, with a section dedicated to bottle service for those patrons who desire something a bit more exclusive. The menu is focused on well-made, classic bar food like burgers and wings. The drinks menu will feature an array of beer, wine, Champagne and cocktails, including the signature Lunch Box drink, which is beer topped with orange juice and accented by a shot of amaretto dropped into the glass. And the patio will accommodate al fresco dining and drinking as they welcome the onset of fall.
For entertainment, Uptown Pawn will invite in local musicians on weeknights, and on weekends a DJ will keep the energy high. And filling out the pawn shop theme, there will be items throughout the space available for purchase, including art, guitars and other instruments and furniture like couches and coffee tables.
“Uptown Dallas and especially McKinney Avenue is a fun and vibrant piece of our city, and we feel so privileged to bring two new concepts to this neighborhood,” said Co-Owner Alex Marko. “With Uptown Pawn we’re establishing an entertaining, laid-back space where our guests can spend their evenings enjoying some good drinks in a decidedly unique setting.”
Uptown Pawn is located at 3407 McKinney Ave. This space was formerly occupied by Belly and Trumpet.
