As the temperatures drop this weekend our need for soup rises and we have a few suggestions, a few you may not have been familiar with. We did a similar list last Winter, so check that out as well.
Enjoy our list as much as the soup!
Dallas Grilled Cheese Company: Located in Oak Cliff’s Bishop Arts District, the Dallas Grilled Cheese Company has a soothing and creamy tomato soup that is an obvious choice to accompany a bacon laden grilled cheese sandwich.
Mariscos 2000: With locations scattered across Dallas, we find the one at 2053 W. Northwest Hwy centrally accessible. This bowl is chock full of delicious seafood bites with an equally delicious broth.
Nazca Kitchen: This tasty South American restaurant is open all day, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Enjoy this rich potato chicken soup for a quick warm up.
Sakhuu: Tom Yum is a hot and sour soup that is addictive as it is beautiful. Loaded with lemongrass, kaffir lime, chile peppers, fish sauce and more, this is a perfect way to warm up on a cold night. Add a side of the stuffed chicken wings for a win.
King’s Noodles: One of our favorite soup haunts in Richardson, King’s has a perfect beef noodle soup. But we also enjoy this beefy wonton noodle soup. Hard to choose. Go for both.
Cosmic Cafe: Sometimes we just want to feel as healthy as our food. Cosmic to the rescue with this platter called Buddha’s Delight. Buddha apparently enjoys a good dahl soup. So do we. You may also order the soup as a bowl or cup separately but the curried veggies and samosa go very well with the soup.
Truluck’s: A place for stone crab, and a place for amazing Ciopinno. This perfect blend of crab, mussels squid and more is brothy with a slight piquant flavor that will summons you back for more.
Lavendou: You make reservations for Lavendou for the rich foie terrine, Escargots à la Bourguignonne, rack of lamb and much more, but this bowl of Left Bank Gratinée à L’Oignon is insanely good. Power-packed with sauteed onions, a rich broth and a mountain of stringy gooey cheese you will find this the ultimate comfort food.
Ten Ramen: The Tonkotsu at Ten is the ultimate in ramen deliciousness. Prepare for no seating, a bit of a crowd and pure tastiness.
Terilli’s: It had been so long since we checked into Terilli’s on Greenville Avenue. Too long. It will be a difficult choice of which hearty bowl you will want to order, the lobster bisque or the cream or jalapeno. Both are filling and only available as a bowl. Both are fantastic choices.
