Lakewood Brewing Offering Free Meal and Beer For Garland, Rowlett and Copeville Residents Affected By Recent Disaster

There have been so many acts of kindness from the North Texas citizens on the heels of the terrible disaster we incurred this week. The tornado tore a giant swath through many homes, leaving devastation unlike we have have seen in years.  We will continue to post related stories to help get the good word out, be it a fundraiser, a free meal for responders and those in need, or whatever makes sense.

In keep with that, we have this offer from Lakewood Brewing Company:

In light of the recent storms that destroyed so much of our surrounding communities, we want to do our little part in helping victims affected by this disaster escape the chaos, even if it’s for a short time. Although we luckily escaped with no damage, many did not. This Wednesday, December 30 between 3pm-10pm, we’ll be hosting any Garland, Rowlett, and Copeville-area residents that were affected by the storm, as well as any area first responders who have bravely worked endless hours helping those in need, to take a break with their neighbors and enjoy complimentary beer and a hot meal from Rick’s BBQ Food Truck (starting around 5pm)

In addition, we’d also like to open the doors to the rest of the community who may be currently looking to donate. Our friends at Guns and Hoses of North Texas will be on site collecting donations of any kind to help with relief efforts, with an emphasis on new or gently used toys. Many children have next to nothing in the way of toys now, so any unwrapped toy donations would be greatly appreciated. Any donation made will be met with a couple of beers on the house as a thank you. We’re proud to be in a community that shows no end to their generosity and strength in times of distress. With your help, we can and will rebuild once again.
