Coming to Addison Oktoberfest September 15-18? Then you’ll be pleased to find favorites that you’ve come to expect. You’ll find beautiful bratwurst, spectacular smoked pork and lots of sauerkraut. You’ll find the same Paulaner bier that is being served at the Munich Oktoberfest. And, of course, you’ll find delicious strudel in various traditional flavors.
However, there are six things you might NOT expect to find at Addison Oktoberfest, and these would make a good Oktoberfest bucket list:
Potato Pancakes topped with Kobe Beef Bacon – one of the featured appetizers at the Chamberlain’s Brau Haus are traditional German potato pancakes topped with locally sourced Kobe Beef Bacon, the ultimate definition of decadence! Talk about giving our Munich experience a little taste of Texas.
Alaskan Reindeer Bratwurst – Sausages made from pork or veal are common at Oktoberfest celebrations, but the meat masters at Texas Pit Stops showcases Bratwurst made with Alaskan Reindeer. Not up for Reindeer? They also have Pheasant, Wild Boar, Elk and more.
German Reuben Crepe – Crepes are a traditional European treat, but diners are used to seeing savory chicken crepes or dessert crepes made with Nutella or fruit. But Crepe Crazy has taken traditional Reuben ingredients and layered the into a great crepe treat.
Corn Dog Brats – Brats are an Oktoberfest staple – but you can have a taste of the State Fair of Texas with Corn Dog Brats prepared by the folks at Fischers. Time to say Prost, y’all.
Baconade – hot fall days are perfect for lemonade, but at Addison Oktoberfest you can find amazing Baconade – yes, that’s bacon-flavored lemonade! Because everything is better with bacon.
Windbeutel – While the word means ‘windbag,’ these are German crème puffs that are one of the featured items at the newly redesigned Kaffee und Kuchen Haus featuring treats by Oma’s. You can also find Quarkballchen, which are tasty German fritters.

What: Addison Oktoberfest
Named one of the country’s most authentic Oktoberfest celebrations by Forbes and USA Today, Addison Oktoberfest features four days of family-oriented entertainment. German entertainers in authentic costumes perform traditional Bavarian folk dances, schuhplatten, oompah music, sing-a-longs, yodels and more. A special “Oktoberfest” Paulaner Bier is served along with several types of German sausage, sauerkraut, strudel, giant pretzels and more. There are carnival rides, midway games, and children’s entertainment. Guests can also make reservations to dine at the Chamberlain’s Brau Haus for a full service dining experience featuring an exclusive menu.
