Eat Me: Brunch at Vickery Park

What you might consider a fantastic saloon for a vast selection of interesting brews, spectacular whiskeys, late night burritos and a most delicious bowl of mussels, Vickery Park lands hard in our book of go to spots on Henderson.

What revelers may have overlooked is their brunch Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Known for their industry clientele, this revelation makes serious sense. Sunday and Monday is when the people that serve you are generally off work.

On a previous visit we enjoyed Vickery Park’s Monte Cristo, but this special fried sandwich seems more elusive that we hoped for. On more recent visits we have enjoyed brunch staples such as migas, chicken and waffles, egg laden burgers, and egg stuffed burritos. Standard fare for brunches, but oh there’s more in the works.

Check out the Texas Benny which offers up the perequisite poached eggs and English muffins, but also is strapped with tender house-smoked brisket for an eye-popping morning awakening. The hashbrowns are massive in quantity and flavor as well.

If you are wanting a more British pinky lifting experience, order the Proper Fry-Up which includes traditional bangers, bacon, two eggs, baked beans, grilled tomato, sautéed mushrooms, those delicious hash browns and a side of freshly baked Texas toast. It appears that the Brits stole our thickly sliced toast.

Top your brunch off with a few Bloody Marys that are sure to jump start your day, especially when ordering one extra spicy.

Vickery Park brunch is served from 10am-4pm Sat, Sun, and  & Mon, 11am-3pm.
