It is time once again for the 7th annual Blues, Bandits, & BBQ benefiting KNON Community Radio and Mardi Gras Oak Cliff. The 2-day festival will be held Friday, November 11th and Saturday, November 12th in Oak Cliff, Texas.
30 teams will move into Kidd Springs Park on Friday, November 11th. The public is invited to come watch them light their fires at 5 p.m. We’ll have live music, as well as food and drinks available for purchase. The party starts at 5 and ends at 10 p.m.
On Saturday, we’ll kick off a great music line up with in a nod to Oak Cliff’s history as the birthplace of legends like Stevie Ray Vaughn and T Bone Walker.

The barbecue tasting and voting kicks off at 1:00pm and lasts until 3:00pm. Attendees can purchase a wristband which includes their samples of the teams’ barbecue, but it also includes one coveted vote in the People’s Choice Competition! Wristbands are $20 and will be available for purchase online on October 1, 2016. There is a limited quantity of wristbands available.
Blues, Bandits, and BBQ is free for the public to attend. Vegetarians, as well as well-behaved pets and kids, are welcome! The only people who need to buy a ticket are the people who want to participate in the BBQ tasting and voting from 1 – 3pm on Saturday. No outside booze are allowed, though, since it is a park and against TABC law. This is strictly enforced.
Barbecue award winners are announced around 5pm with a trophy and check presentation on the stage.
It’s one of the best events in Oak Cliff.
