With almost two dozen apartment living communities within a walkable 5-mile radius, Uptown Urban Market’s food hall was a super smart installation. Master Chef Tiffany Derry has carefully created a Derry-esque blend of grab-and-go options for this upscale food court that perfectly fits the on-the-go-but-on-foot lifestyle of this urban area.
This part of uptown has tons of restaurants and businesses in addition to dense residential living. The Cupboard offers local residents and pedestrians a convenient pit stop where they can grab really good noshes and have a quick sit down munch in between errands, or take it with them to their office, apartment, home or park.
Derry has curated offerings that truly include something for every craving and dietary type. A few mentions: There are yogurt parfaits, chia parfaits if you’re vegan, fresh delicious salads, box lunches, seasonal soups, heat-up-at-home dinners (or they will heat up for you), wraps, baguette sandwiches, and hoagie roll sammies as big as your face, pickled snacks from Oh Snap!, KiZE Raw Energy Bars which are gluten free and non-GMO (KiZE gives back to those in need with a percent of every bar/speech/coaching/consulting project), and so much more is locally sourced. You will be doing something good for the world and your body just by eating at the restaurant.
But notably, there are selections that highlight Derry’s connection to the local community. All natural jams from The Urban Brunch, Co., decadent layered pudding jars from Pudding On Smiles, Duck and Shrimp Fried Rice from Chino Chinatown, cheeses from Scardello, and a collaboration with Yama Sushi (who’s owner/chef Shigekazu Tateno is a Dallas sushi chef veteran for almost 18 years) to bring us delectable sushi, sashimi, rolls and most excitingly: Sushi burritos and poke bowls!
Ahi Poke Bowl
Enjoy the sushi barside, or get your order to go! Rolls and poke bowls are also made fresh and regularly stocked in the grab-and-go refrigerator case.
Seared Salmon Nigiri
Zen-rrito: Sushi burrito with salmon, avocado, namasu, lettuce, jicama, tempura flake, brown rice, and yuzu pepper aioli
The poke craze is in full swing but the sushi-rritos will be your next addiction!
The Cupboard by Tiffany Derry is located in the Uptown Urban Market food hall on the corner of Cole and 2600 Cedar Springs in Dallas. They also use Caviar for delivery.
