WaterTower Theatre Artistic Director Joanie Schultz today announced casting and creative team details for the Regional Premiere of Scott Carter’s The Gospel According to Thomas Jefferson, Charles Dickens, and Count Leo Tolstoy: Discord, directed by Emily Scott Banks. Discord will run April 14-May 7, 2017, in the Canterbury Family Main Stage at the Addison Theatre Centre. The cast features Ian Ferguson as Thomas Jefferson, John-Michael Marrs as Charles Dickens, and Jeremy Schwartz as Count Leo Tolstoy.

A Founding Father, a Victorian novelist, and a Russian revolutionary walk into a… stop if you’ve heard this one. Join us for a laugh-out-loud, whip-smart new comedy as Discord takes the third U.S. President, the author of A Christmas Carol, and the author of War and Peace, locks them in a room with ‘no exit,’ and has them hash out their views of scripture and the true meaning of existence.  A blistering battle of wits from Scott Carter, Executive Producer of HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher, this perceptive new comedy examines what happens when great men of history are forced to repeat it.

Individual tickets to Discord are on sale now, and are available by calling the WaterTower Theatre Box Office at 972.450.6232 or online.

The creative team, in addition to Director Emily Scott Banks, includes Bradley Gray (Set Designer), Sylvia Fuhrken Marrs (Costume Designer), JoJo Percy (Lighting Designer), Kellen Voss (Sound Designer), Anne Schilling (Dialect Coach), Kyle Eric Bradford (Dramaturg), Caron Gitelman Grant (Stage Manager), and Joe Heike (Assistant Stage Manager).
