Asian Festival May 13th at Fair Park

The largest celebration of Asian-Pacific American Heritage Month in North Texas returns to Fair Park.  Home Depot returns as a presenter this year for the 27th Asian Festival representing more than 20 Asian cultures on Saturday, May 13 at the Dallas Fair Park at the Cotton Bowl Plaza (Lagoon side) from 11 am to 7 pm.  Free admission and open to the public. Festival is Gate 5 and 6 and parking is Gate 5 and 6.

Presented by Home Depot and organized by the Greater Dallas Asian American Chamber of Commerce, this family-friendly festival showcases Asian food trucks and cuisines from countries like Thailand, Philippines, Korea to China, cultural performances, arts and crafts, a children’s zone, a meditation area, a free health screening area and 8 cultural pavilions to explore and learn about each culture.  

New to this year is 30×30 feet interactive Asian map for kids

Cultural Pavilion -an area where countries like India, Pakistan, Korea, Indonesia and the Philippines will be represented and festival fans can explore and learn more about each culture!

Food trucks & vendors – locally-owned restaurants & food vendors serving different Asian cuisines.

Performances – come see cultural dances and performance, martial arts, acrobats, lion dances and many more.

Children’s Zone – arts & crafts vendors will showcase Asian-themed arts.

Health screenings – UT Southwestern is providing free health screenings, up to 7 booths and all for free for festival-goers.

Meditation area – presented by the Crow Collection of Asian Arts. This area is nestled under the trees by the Lagoon where self-guided meditation cards are provided.

  1. Nice write up about all of the activities which took place at the event. The meditation area sounded interesting, and hopefully those who attended had an enjoyable time.
