An exciting new concept is coming to Downtown Dallas. Don’t Tell Supper Club will seamlessly blend a gourmet restaurant with a high-energy nightclub featuring elaborate stage acts, the likes of which you’d find in New York, Miami and Vegas.
With more than 10,000 square feet of space spread over two stories, Don’t Tell Supper Club features a 120-seat dining room, two bars, a 24-foot stage and an enclosed patio with prime city views. The warm space combines brick and wood backgrounds with dramatic art pieces and decorative wall mirrors. Upstairs, patrons will find projection walls that display different themed programming and images to accompany the performances and music downstairs. And the entire space is decked out with top-of-the-line sound and lighting.
Award-winning Chef Tre Wilcox is consulting on the new concept and has created a theatrical, whimsical menu to complement the space. Diners can expect beautifully-presented shareable plates, ranging from light fish dishes like smoked hamachi crudo with grapefruit, avocado sauce and togarashi panko to heartier beef sliders. Large plates will include a whole fish, dueling lobsters and lamb three-ways: a smoked rack of lamb, braised lamb leg and spice-rubbed T-bones.
General Manager James Hamous is one of the creators and co-owners of Standard Pour and High Fives, and has been instrumental in the bar program. The team’s talented bartenders will be churning out inventive twists on classic cocktails meant to enhance the visual entertainment throughout the space. For example: the Old Fashioned is served in an old, medicinal serum bottle; the Negroni features a Death Star ice cube; and the Champagne punch is sprinkled with pop rocks. In addition to cocktails, the supper club will offer a wide selection of wines, whiskeys and craft beers to ensure there’s something for everyone.
At 11 p.m., Don’t Tell transitions into a nightclub, complete with pulsing house music, dancing and revelry. Patrons will turn their eyes toward the stage, which on any given night will feature an array of circus acts, burlesque, aerialists and even hypnotists. Performances will vary, but promise to always entertain, and will give Dallas a new creative energy you can’t find anywhere else in the city.
Owner Derek Braun has opened various nightlife concepts throughout the US, and now has his sights set on the underserved Downtown market. “For all of its amazing restaurants and nightclubs, Dallas has yet to realize the supper club concept as witnessed in other cities around the country,” said Braun. “With Don’t Tell Supper Club, we’re out to prove that Dallas can support such a concept, and that with the right mix of top-notch food and eclectic entertainment, patrons can enjoy a full night out, from dinner to after-dinner, in one unique space.”
In order to develop such a unique project, Braun has collaborated with some of the best in the industry and relied on the expertise of Avi Adri who is known in Dallas for Levu, Aura Lounge and Rock In Taco as well as Robert Ortiz and Lisa Bennett who are the primary owners of the 20,000 square foot Mega club LABEL located in Charlotte N.C.
Don’t Tell Supper Club is open Thursday and Friday from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. and then Saturday from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. Dinner seatings begin at 6 p.m., and the restaurant turns into a nightclub at 11 p.m. Shows will take the stage each night, with an additional brunch show launching in the fall. The space will be used as a private event venue which will be known as DT Downtown seven days a week hosting everything from parties to corporate functions.
Don’t Tell Supper Club is located at 2026 Commerce St in Downtown Dallas.
