Dallas Craft Co. Shows You How To Be A Sports Bar

DSC02077by Steven Doyle

The Dallas Craft Company in Colleyville is how a sports bar is supposed to be. Plenty of televisions in every conceivable location through out the building, 200 beers on tap, delicious cocktails and a supreme menu. What more could you ask for beside great service, and they have that too.

The very best part about having so much beer on premise is that your chef gets highfalutin ideas as what should be done with the brews. In the case of Dallas Craft, the chef infuses a good amount of the menu with various local beers. Over thirty items to be more precise. You might expect that for your fish and chips, beer batters are the way to go with that dish (and theirs is perfectly delicious), but you will also find an extremely tender and crunchy beer battered chicken with the most tempting gravy you might expect. Beer of choice? Revolver Blood and Honey for the win.

Some of the burgers get a lift from the beer as well. Think of the Maple Bacon Short Rib Burger which is served with maple bacon jam, crispy bacon, pulled (512) Pecan Porter-braised short rib, and cheddar cheese on a bed of lettuce, tomato, pickle, and red onions for the win. They also make a Reuben with house-made corned beef cooked in Karbach Weisse Versa, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese and their special “boom-boom” sauce – steroid-driven thousand island.

There are fun starters to be found on this menu such as a fried mac and cheese, Bacon Thingies, which are jalapeños stuffed with chicken, Monterey jack cheese, cheddar cheese, wrapped in bacon, fried and covered with hot sauce (heavenly), pulled pork nachos smothered in a generous supply of Bishop Crackberry Cider pulled pork, and a beautiful appetizer you would not expect to find:  seared ahi tuna steak, thinly-sliced and served over cucumber salad with wasabi aioli and sesame-giner glaze on the side.

The menu will continue to amaze even the least gifted foodist with a slew of sandwiches such as a Cuban, Philly and Po Boys, all gifted with the Dallas Craft touch.

We were genuinely impressed by the orange glazed duck and the raspberry glazed jalapeño chop infused with a jalapeño pepper marinade, topped with a Lindeman’s Framboise raspberry glaze and served with a side of grilled green beans and jalapeño cheesy grits.

The restaurant has a great vibe that is inviting to just about anyone, from families to a guys or ladies night out, and even a fun date night where great food and drinks are a requirement. You will find some fun arcade and board games smattered about the restaurant, and remember the dozens of TV’s that will bring you any favorite game requested.

There are locations also found in Lewisville, The Colony and in Keller.
