One of our very favorite chicken restaurants in Dallas has shuttered. Fat Chicken has suffered from a spiraling lack of guests in the Trinity Groves leading to their demise.
The press release stated: “Fat Chicken offered Chef DJ Quintanilla’s distinctive take on all things chicken—southern fried with biscuits, oven roasted, grilled, pot pies and even ‘chickarrones’—as well as an old-fashioned pie cart with a daily selection of scratch-made pies”.
That pie cart was simply wonderful, and the chicken reminded us of our grandmother’s version.
The closing followed a year after re-inventing the space, also run by chef Quintanilla, Reso Gastro Bistro. We have been told that Quintanilla will be at Nick and Sam’s.
