Shell Shack Opening in Denton Spring 2018

Shell Shack opened its first location in Uptown Dallas in late 2013. Fast forward a few short years, and the popular seafood spot known for its perfectly-seasoned crabs is getting ready to open its sixth DFW location. Joining the Uptown original, as well as stores in Plano, Arlington and Mesquite—and soon Ft Worth—the new location is landing in Denton near Golden Triangle Mall. Crews have already broken ground, and Shell Shack Denton is expected to open in the spring of this year.

The 3,500 square foot space is a complete remodel of the old Dani Rae’s Gulf Coast Kitchen. Once finished, it will feature the same interior as the other Shell Shack locations, with chalkboard walls and white tables set amidst pops of color, plus a full bar stocked with beer, wine and cocktails. Of course, the hospital-grade hand washing machines will be at the ready, ensuring that everyone’s hands are squeaky clean before leaving the restaurant.

The menu will contain all the same entrees and sides that regulars have come to know and love, including crab and proprietary seasoning blends that infuse everything with intense, delicious flavors. The popular “Boil” option includes the freshest crab, shrimp or crawfish, plus potatoes, corn and sausage, all seasoned and spiced to the diner’s content. It’s served in a giant bag for spilling out onto the table and digging in with your hands, making it one of the most fun dining experiences in the metroplex.

In the mood for something different? No problem. The menu also features catfish, oysters and non-seafood favorites like burgers, wings, hushpuppies and hand-cut fries. And because Shell Shack doesn’t want anyone going hungry before bed, the kitchen is open until 1:00 a.m. every day while the bar and restaurant stays open until 2 a.m., ensuring there’s always something good to eat and drink, even when it’s late.

“Shell Shack started in Dallas just over four years ago, and we’ve been overwhelmed with how the community has embraced our concept,” said Dallas Hale, President/CEO. “Now as we continue to grow and push to open our new location, we’re excited to share our food and friendly service with the people of Denton.”

Shell Shack Denton will be located at 2303 S Interstate 35 E and is slated to open in the spring.

So my wife and I had frequent Shell Shack 1855 Dallas Pkwy #100, Plano, TX 75093 at least once a month for over a year now. Great service great staff and great food. One day on my day off I decided to go for lunch myself. All was normal as usual staff greeted me sat down placed order. I had got through my whole meal. I noticed I hadn’t touched my water cause I always get a beer or two with my crab, just goes well with a Dos Equis beer salt and a lime. I drank a few sips of water and as I was about to take another I noticed something floating in it and it appeared to be what looked like a roach or bug of some kind. Thrown back and feeling sick to my stomach now I flagged down my waitress. She got the manger and the shock, disappointment, and embarrassment on his face was priceless. Needless to say I was DONE!!! how could my waitress have missed this before serving it to me. I contacted Corporate office got a responce from DM the very next day and I shared with him my experience. His responce to a loyal customer sorry to hear that it must have been a bee that flew into it. However I was sitting inside so no such thing could have happened. He offered to pay for a free meal! Really I spend $100 – $200 everytime I’m there. I dont want your free meal… I Dont Even Want To Eat Here Again! Thats the best you can do! Eat there at your own RISK!!! If you must. What a disappointment. Unacceptable!!! Happy Holidays to all!
